We prefer to pay your pension into a (postal) giro or bank account opened in Belgium.

If you are:
  • a subject of a member country of the European Union, we can pay your pension into a personal account in any financial institution established on the territory of one of these countries
  • are not a subject of a member country of the European Union, we can only pay your pension into a personal account in any financial institution established on the territory of the country where you live. You can obtain the necessary forms from the Federal Pensions Service .

Otherwise, the payment will be sent by cheque.

When does the Federal Pensions Service pay your pension abroad?

The next payment date appears 10 days in advance in mypension.be, your online pension dossier.

Attention : From January 2019 on, a new payments calendar will be applied as a result of the introduction of the single payment (a system in which those who receive several monthly payments, will receive the sum of the monthly amounts in a single payment).
You will be able to see the payment dates for the pensions of the employees, the independent/self-employed and the civil servants on this page.

In the table below you will find a complete overview of the payment dates abroad:

Reading the table?

The date on which you receive the payment depends on the chosen method of payment:
  • Payment into a foreign account: the calendar shows the date the money is taken from our account. Processing time vary from bank to bank.
  • Payment by cheque: the Federal Pensions Service collaborates with external partners which makes it difficult to give the exact date you can cash your payment.

How do you know what group you are part of?

  • By checking the date you last received your pension.
  • The group is mentioned in the account which accompanies your 1st payment.
  • People who have been receiving a pension since August 1st 2005 are always part of the 3rd group.
